Fizz FA Cup Preview Banana Skin Time ![]() The greatest club competition Here we go again. Its November and its FA Cup time again. The Dons and the forty eight league teams join the remaining thirty two in a two round mini tournament with the aim to land a plumb tie in round three when the big fish enter the pond. MK Dons managed to avoid the slippy yellow skin associated with being drawn against a non league outfit and also the obstacle of another high flying league one side but the hiding to nothing difficulty to overcome has arrived in the shape of league two Macclesfield Town. Macc give the Dons a difficult time ? Pah I hear some say. Well its not as easy as it may first seem to appear and if a bit of respect isnt shown a major upset could occur. This is the FA Cup. League position and status goes flying out the window, the form book counts for nothing. The Dons could win 6-0 and it wouldnt raise too many eyebrows but Macc win 1-0 and its news. If a club ever needed incentives Macc's short term memory should be enough to give them a boost today. A couple of seasons ago their manager and his side kick (Incey and Ray) left them to join us and shortly followed Navarro, Swailes, Regan and Hadfield (loan) on the playing front. Macclesfield boss Keith Alexander has a wealth of experience and loves a challenge on a shoestring, hes used to it. He helped Lincoln City for years in two stints in charge who struggled financially but still proved difficult to beat and managed to play neat football. A brief spell at Posh was followed by a year off from management saw him take up a director of football role at Bury. After being fired he took up the post at Moss Rose in February 2008. MK Dons Team News Paul Ince has a few decisions to make today ahead of a busy week with a quarter final JPT game on Tuesday against Northampton followed by the trip to second placed Charlton next Saturday. Its not three games per say that cause the dilemma its the implications of suspension and whisper it quietly the "mulitple" international call ups we face. Lewi is available to play today before his two game suspension so Sol Davies will be at least on the bench, with Easter and Gleeson called up for Wales 'A' and Eire U21's respectively they could well make way or at least withdrawn towards the end of todays game to give their replacements some game time. Its being reported that Chadwick is close to return (yet again) as is Jemal Johnson. Martin Devaney has been given clearance by Barnsley to play. Sam Baldock will learn in the next few days if he is in favour with Ince with Easter's disappearance. Danny Swailes is said to have had a slight reaction to playing his first full league game in over a year so I feel a shuffle at the back is on the cards again ! Macclesfield Team News The Silkmen have defender Carl Tremarco suspended after his fifth yellow but welcome back Matty Tipton returns after a one match suspension, Leicester loanee Ricky Sappleton has been cleared to play but has been ill and Nat Brown is doubtful with a thigh strain. Paul Bolland and Izak Reid are set to return after injuries to be in contention and two others who returned from injuries last week to face Bradford were striker Hamza Bencherif and a young chap called Rooney. I'm sure Macc will make it a difficult afternoon for us and we'll need a decent performance to see us through. Fizz Prediction MK Dons 2 Macclesfield 0 The winners will be ball number 33 in Sunday afternoon's second round draw
